As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and ensure a positive experience
  • Manage patient records, including demographic and billing information
  • Secure and process patient testing information, including date of birth, address, insurance, and ABN
  • Verify doctor's orders and ensure completeness
  • Take phone orders from physicians and client offices
  • Comply with federal and state privacy laws relating to protected patient health information
  • Perform other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, typing, photocopying, and collating
  • Follow all HIPAA and Compliance guidelines
  • Participate in and support all Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement endeavors for the laboratory

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of previous medical reception experience
  • Ability to professionally interact with patients, physicians, clients, and Company visitors
  • Previous computer and phone experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
