The ideal Plant Controller will possess a strong technical acumen and be a collaborative team member capable of articulating financial scenarios clearly to diverse audiences. We are looking for an inquisitive individual ready to tackle challenges in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation of the annual operating plan for controllable operating expenses and capital investments.
- Conduct variance analysis against planned expenses and support cost reforecasting throughout the fiscal year.
- Manage the annual product cost standard setting process and provide periodic updates as necessary.
- Execute monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, including complex adjustments and analytical schedules.
- Analyze financial data related to plant operations, including cost center reports and inventory valuations, while preparing comprehensive flux analyses.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end, year-end, and ad hoc financial reporting.
- Identify and resolve errors, conducting root cause analysis and implementing process improvements.
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies and customer service.
- Communicate accounting-related information effectively to internal teams and external partners.
- Lead special projects, ensuring timely decision-making and execution.
- Utilize data analytics to support business decisions.
- Facilitate the implementation of accounting policies and provide training to plant accounting staff, reinforcing internal control procedures.
- Safeguard accounting-related documentation, including invoices and financial statements.
- Maintain accurate job aids for all assigned responsibilities.
Core Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in accounting or finance.
- At least six years of experience in a manufacturing setting, collaborating with plant managers on cost analysis.
- Experience in developing financial justifications for capital projects and performance enhancements.
- Proficiency in reporting and data analysis tools.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey intricate processes.
- Demonstrated analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strategic and creative thinking skills for developing innovative solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Collaborative mindset, contributing to team goals.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
- Experience with SAP software.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
