Aerospace Systems Engineer

About the Role:
A prominent organization supporting government initiatives is in search of an Aerospace Systems Engineer to become a vital member of their team in a contract-to-hire capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
This role involves collaborating with a team dedicated to crafting effective autonomous solutions for both single and multiple vehicles across diverse projects. The position will entail a blend of hands-on development and integration, alongside supporting the team lead in strategic planning, participating in discussions with leadership, and effectively communicating ideas and plans to the team.
Work Dynamics:
The responsibilities will be divided approximately 70% towards development and 30% towards other tasks. Flexibility is essential, as the weekly focus may shift between:
- Software development, including feature creation and code enhancement.
- Validation and testing, or assisting in the organization of flight tests.
- Collaborative meetings, team brainstorming, and strategic sessions.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Experience with aviation systems.
- UAV experience is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with human-autonomy interactions in UAV systems.
- Experience in planning and executing flight tests.
- Knowledge of verification and validation techniques, including "Formal Methods".
- Experience in strategic planning and collaboration with leadership.
- A Bachelor's degree in aerospace, electrical, computer engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in developing algorithms within aviation systems.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, and Matlab is required. Additionally, experience in the autonomy field and the ability to obtain a security clearance are essential.
