Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join our team at GE Aerospace. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and integration of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) for our commercial and military projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Lead the design, development, analysis, evaluation, simulation, verification, and integration/test of FPGAs.
  • DO-254 Compliance: Lead the planning and execution of DO-254 objectives for custom logic lifecycle projects.
  • Electrical Sub-Systems and Power Conversion Systems: Lead the design, analysis, or evaluation of both electrical sub-systems and power conversion systems using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Signal Processing and Control: Develop and test algorithms for signal processing and control of power systems and power electronics components, including high-frequency switching components.
  • Embedded Software and Controls: Work closely with embedded software and controls teams to develop architectures, interfaces, and designs for custom logic devices.
  • System Requirements: Perform the analysis and decomposition of systems, software, and hardware requirements to custom logic device level requirements, architecture, and detailed design.
  • Documentation and Communication: Support the development of embedded software and firmware, design, test, and troubleshoot analog and digital electronics circuits, and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in electrical hardware design, digital design, and FPGA development.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience with Xilinx and Intel FPGAs, VHDL firmware language, DO-254 lifecycle experience, FPGA simulation tools, embedded software development, and programming in C.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Experience: Demonstrated experience with high-reliability electronic systems design, magnetic components knowledge, lab hands-on experience, and experience with Mathworks suite of tools.
  • Additional Skills: Effective communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to drive innovation across organizations and influence indirect teams.
