Position Summary:
The Department of Pediatrics is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to enhance our Pediatric Critical Care services. This role is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assess, treat, and document the health conditions of children facing complex medical challenges in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. You will be responsible for ordering and interpreting clinical tests, prescribing medications, and collaborating with the physician team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Education and Training: Provide formal and informal instruction to nursing staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals, fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Quality Improvement and Research: Engage in research initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes and advance the field of pediatric care.

Work Schedule:
Flexibility is required to support 24/7 coverage, with additional compensation available.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing for Nurse Practitioners or Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
- Licenses: Valid Wisconsin RN License and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License for Nurse Practitioners; Wisconsin Physician Assistant License for Physician Assistants.
- Certifications: Current BLS and PALS certifications are mandatory.
Preferred Experience:
- Two years of direct patient care experience with children, particularly in critical care settings.
- Experience in managing technology-dependent pediatric patients.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
