Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Student Services and Events is a key member of the Center for Academic and Professional Achievement team, responsible for supporting student success through managing and supporting student organizations, planning student events, providing career coaching and programming, and overseeing large campus-wide events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement large-scale events, including Commencement, the White Coat Ceremony, and Career events, in collaboration with various committees and departments.
  • Create and maintain a master calendar of student services marketing initiatives and deadlines, working with Marketing to share social media information, internal portal, and website content.
  • Recommend venue options based on event scope and specifications, conduct pre-event site/venue tours, and manage event vendors, volunteer staff, and student workers.
  • Track and monitor event expenses, overseeing event billing and payment processes, and collaborate with offices to ensure successful programs and activities.
  • Serve as an advisor to student council members, assist with the executive student council handbook, and provide advice and referrals to students.
  • Support student organizations with event planning and approvals, budgeting, room reservations, purchases, reimbursements, contracts, and fundraising, and facilitate training for student leaders.
  • Oversee spending for student council and clubs, coordinate sponsorship opportunities, and collaborate with departments to ensure successful student organization events.
  • Coordinate the Student Life Committee meetings with the Board of Trustees and student leaders, and provide leadership development training opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of professional experience in Campus Life/Student Activities, higher education, or event coordination.
  • Experience in event planning and execution, budget management, and programming.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
