Clinical Nurse II - Critical Care - Trauma ICU

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse II to join our Critical Care - Trauma ICU team at Cook County Health and Hospitals. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and contributing to the development of our patients' care plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet patients' unique needs.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • One (1) year of current, Adult Critical Care nursing experience within an acute care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Current ICU, Trauma, or Burn experience.
  • Current ICU charge nurse experience.
  • Current experience and knowledge of R/T hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medication infusion.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Certification.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

This position is functioning within a healthcare environment. The incumbent is responsible for adherence to all hospital and department specific safety requirements.
