Job Summary:

As a Clinical Partner II at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our inpatient services department. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients, including bathing, ambulating, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  • Collect and document data for patient assessments and reassessments, providing accurate and timely information to the healthcare team.
  • Contribute to a safe and quality care environment by communicating effectively with colleagues and relaying important information.
  • Inform licensed nurses of any changes in patient condition, needs, or complaints, and provide education to patients and their families as needed.
  • Perform various tasks, such as taking vital signs, monitoring behavior and physical condition, and preparing patients for discharge.
  • Stock and maintain supplies and equipment, utilizing time and resources efficiently.
  • Assist with delegated clerical duties, including answering phones, relaying messages, and preparing medical records.
  • Orient new patients and their families to the nursing unit, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Perform mechanical and manual operations of equipment, recognizing common mechanical problems and taking corrective action.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safety, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • May perform point-of-care testing according to established protocols.

Requirements:

  • Passing grade on state-specific exam required.
  • No prior experience necessary, but a willingness to learn and grow is essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to communicate with colleagues and patients.
  • Frequent use of vision for distances near and far, and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving patients.
  • Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Occasional driving.

Professional Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - State-specific certification
