As a Patient Service Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients have a positive experience from the moment they arrive at our facility. This full-time position is essential for managing both patient interactions and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist patients upon arrival, guiding them through the registration process and providing essential information about their visit.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, both in-person and via phone.
- Maintain regular communication with various stakeholders, including legal representatives, insurance providers, and internal teams.
- Handle patient payments, verify insurance details, and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Provide patients with relevant information regarding their upcoming appointments during checkout.
- Address inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Experience in the healthcare field.
- Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, telephones, and copiers.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Manual dexterity for typing and operating office equipment.
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds safely.
- Visual acuity for maintaining accurate records and recognizing individuals.
- Effective communication skills to understand and provide directions.
