Position Overview:

As a Patient Service Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients have a positive experience from the moment they arrive at our facility. This full-time position is essential for managing both patient interactions and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist patients upon arrival, guiding them through the registration process and providing essential information about their visit.
  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, both in-person and via phone.
  • Maintain regular communication with various stakeholders, including legal representatives, insurance providers, and internal teams.
  • Handle patient payments, verify insurance details, and obtain necessary authorizations.
  • Provide patients with relevant information regarding their upcoming appointments during checkout.
  • Address inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes.
  • Experience in the healthcare field.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, telephones, and copiers.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Manual dexterity for typing and operating office equipment.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 pounds safely.
  • Visual acuity for maintaining accurate records and recognizing individuals.
  • Effective communication skills to understand and provide directions.
