Position Overview: Senior Financial Strategist

We are looking for a Senior Financial Strategist to partner with a global client. This role will involve working closely with the Finance Team, including Treasury, Accounting, and FP&A, to provide insightful analysis and recommendations to both the business and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial operations and budgeting activities, encompassing month-end closing, forecasting, and annual budgeting cycles.
  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance budgeting processes, financial projections, operational plans, and analytical tools.
  • Deliver comprehensive financial insights to department heads and stakeholders, leveraging a deep understanding of budgets and forecasts.
  • Proactively identify areas for process enhancements and execute agreed-upon improvements.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to conduct analyses and propose recommendations for operational efficiencies.
  • Investigate and analyze discrepancies between budgeted figures and actual financial performance, communicating findings effectively.
  • Develop and assess KPIs and other critical operational reports as required by the business.
  • Create and maintain budgeting and forecasting frameworks for business partners.
  • Examine data irregularities to resolve complex issues and present insights to executive leadership.
  • Analyze extensive datasets from diverse sources to uncover trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design ad hoc reports, templates, and analyses for managers to evaluate their business operations or strategic initiatives.
  • Collect and organize necessary inputs for maintaining financial models or strategic plans.
  • Work alongside the accounting team to ensure accurate preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding all sensitive and relevant information.
  • Undertake additional related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Profound understanding of financial principles, forecasting, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Experience overseeing significant elements of large, cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with partners across various business units to support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven ability to provide constructive feedback to team members and address performance challenges.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and engaging with senior leadership.
  • Capacity to build and maintain internal and external business relationships, leveraging key connections to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including experience with ThinkCell.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and Hyperion systems is advantageous.
