Job Overview

Hybrid Opportunity

Under the guidance of the Program Director, the ideal candidate will cultivate and oversee effective teams dedicated to delivering high-quality care and preventive services aimed at averting foster care placements. This role involves ensuring that Case Planners thoroughly assess family needs and strengths, provide significant support, and adhere to all relevant City, State, and Federal regulations. The Supervisor will also guarantee compliance, prioritize child safety, and offer oversight to Case Planners. Participation in both internal and external meetings, training sessions, and conferences is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive referrals for the General Preventive program and verify program eligibility.
  • Monitor the initial engagement phase to ensure prompt case acceptance and retrieval of necessary documentation.
  • Review initial Psychosocial and Domestic Violence Screens to guide Case Planners in developing service plans.
  • Conduct supervision to ensure Case Planners are consistently performing safety and risk assessments.
  • Ensure that Family Treatment Court participants adhere to the FTC Agreement.
  • Oversee timely reviews and approvals of Family Assessment and Service Plans (FASP) for submission to the appropriate authorities.
  • Supervise the team and ensure completion of administrative tasks, including bi-weekly timesheets and annual performance evaluations.
  • Engage in Critical Case Conferences to provide assessment and intervention strategies and note anticipated case transitions or closures.

Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to the mission and programs of the Lower East Side Family Union.
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW/LMSW/LCSW) or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of child welfare systems and familiarity with ACS.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated passion for working with children and families in underserved communities.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in MS Word, spreadsheets, and familiarity with PROMIS and CONNECTIONS.
  • Preferred: Knowledge and experience in mental health and substance abuse.
  • Preferred: Bilingual skills (Spanish/English or Mandarin/English).
