About Our Job

The City and County of Denver is seeking a highly skilled Librarian to join our team at the Bob Ragland Branch. As a key member of our public library system, you will play a vital role in serving the community through programming, reference, technology assistance, readers' advisory, and front-line customer service.

About Our Branch

The Bob Ragland Branch is a vibrant and dynamic community hub located in the Five Points Neighborhood of the RiNo Arts District. Our branch is committed to providing inclusive and accessible services to all members of the community, with a focus on connection, curiosity, equity, stewardship, and welcoming.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative services that spark curiosity and foster a love of learning in our community.
  • Provide expert reference and research assistance to patrons, using a trauma-informed approach to meet the diverse needs of our community.
  • Collaborate with community partners and organizations to develop and deliver programs and services that meet the social, emotional, and developmental needs of our community.
  • Develop and maintain a welcoming environment for all members of the community, with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Provide excellent customer service, using a customer-centric approach to meet the needs of our community.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in librarianship and community engagement.
Requirements
  • Masters in Library Science degree from an accredited program.
  • Experience working in a public library setting, with a focus on community outreach and engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and partnership-building.
  • Knowledge of the core values of librarianship, including intellectual freedom, privacy, democracy, diversity, sustainability, serving the public good, access to information for all, and library advocacy.
