About Our Job

The City and County of Denver is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teen Librarian to join our team at the Green Valley Ranch Branch Library. As a key member of our library staff, you will play a vital role in serving the community through innovative programming, reference services, and customer support.

Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and experienced librarian to provide exceptional service to our diverse community of teens. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to intellectual freedom, diversity, and inclusion, and will be able to create engaging and culturally responsive programs that meet the needs of our young patrons.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative programs and services for teens, including reading clubs, author talks, and other events
  • Provide reference services and assist patrons with research and technology needs
  • Collaborate with other library staff to develop and implement community outreach and engagement initiatives
  • Participate in collection development and maintenance, including weeding and processing new materials
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to patrons, including those with diverse needs and abilities
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program
  • At least one year of experience in a library setting, preferably working with teens
  • Strong knowledge of library principles and practices, including collection development and maintenance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and customer service
