Position Overview:
Assistant Vice President/Regional Banking Operations Manager
DEPARTMENT: Retail Banking
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
REPORTS TO: VP, Director of Retail Operations
SUPERVISES: Multiple Branch Locations and Staff

POSITION SUMMARY:
Accountable for leading and managing a network of bank branches to meet profitability, growth, and customer service goals. This role focuses on enhancing deposits, assets, operational efficiency, and fee-based services through effective leadership and strategic oversight.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Foster a positive work environment and maintain open lines of communication among all regional staff.
  2. Ensure comprehensive knowledge of all banking products and services.
  3. Collaborate with branch managers and loan officers to identify potential business opportunities and key clients.
  4. Oversee and implement sales initiatives across branches within the region.
  5. Conduct regular visits to branches to ensure operational effectiveness.
  6. Facilitate meetings for branch managers and staff as necessary.
  7. Maintain consistent communication across the region to promote alignment and teamwork.
  8. Review and analyze branch performance reports to achieve regional financial objectives.
  9. Ensure adherence to bank policies and operational procedures by all branch managers.
  10. Identify and address operational challenges and inefficiencies promptly.
  11. Resolve personnel issues in collaboration with Human Resources.
  12. Evaluate branch manager performance regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  13. Prepare annual performance reviews and recommend career advancements as appropriate.
  14. Assist in researching competitive banking products and services.
  15. Promote a culture of sales excellence through effective training and development.
  16. Contribute to the development of customer satisfaction initiatives.
  17. Support the establishment of branch-specific goals and objectives.
  18. Participate in the annual budgeting process and coordinate branch budgets.
  19. Assist branch managers in creating and managing quarterly business plans.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  21. Participate in relevant meetings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Accountable to the VP, Director of Retail Operations for all assigned duties.
  2. Demonstrated ability in time management and project coordination.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with various levels of management and clients.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Established relationships within the business community and involvement in community initiatives.
  6. Bachelor's degree in business or finance is preferred.
  7. Three to five years of relevant experience in sales and retail banking management.
  8. Strong management and human resources capabilities.
  9. In-depth knowledge of banking operations, regulations, and employee development.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Standard office environment.
  2. Frequent use of computer screens.
  3. Ability to lift moderate weights up to 25 pounds.
  4. Repetitive hand and arm movements.
  5. Some travel may be required.
