Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities in this Role:

  • Evaluate and assess patient care requirements.
  • Execute physician directives.
  • Administer prescribed medications, perform wound care, and monitor vital signs.
  • Manage respiratory care and ventilator support for patients.
  • Act as the primary coordinator for multidisciplinary patient care.
  • Document and communicate patient status using computerized systems.
  • Educate patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to address discharge planning needs.
  • Provide culturally competent care across all age groups.
  • Mentor and orient new staff members.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS certifications within six months of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required upon hire.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (RN) with an Associate's Degree.
  • Current Indiana Registered Nurse license or active Compact State licensure required.
  • Previous ICU experience is preferred.
