Clinical Nurse-MedSurge-ED-Mount Sinai Hospital-FT/Days

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical-ED team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to a culture of excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities- Patient Care
- Deliver high-quality patient care by incorporating evidence-based practices and nursing theory.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills to manage patient care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prioritize patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care.
- Patient Experience
- Role model the tenets of Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care, facilitating patient-centered care and promoting patient satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, considering their values, preferences, and cultural diversity.
- Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patient perceptions of care.
- Initiate service recovery for patients and families who have concerns, escalating to Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/Nursing Administrator or Patient Relations as needed.
- Quality and Safety
- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety in the patient population served.
- Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional, evidence-based practices, and procedures.
- Professional Development
- Contribute to the environment of care, supporting clinical colleagues, patients, and families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Advance clinical competence in nursing practice, progressing from novice to expert.
- Project a professional image, communicating with styles and methods that demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, and empathy.
- Current registration in New York State as a Registered Nurse.
- Relevant clinical competence in the area of nursing practice assigned.
- Basic Life Saver (BCLS) certification.
- Other certifications as required by the department or unit.
