Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient care that is safe, effective, and patient-centered, incorporating the principles of Relationship Centered Care.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills to prioritize care and manage assignments.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, using evidence-based practices to promote patient understanding and engagement.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to the development of process improvements.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, coordinating with the Clinical Coordinator/Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/Nursing Administrator to ensure supplies and inventory are sufficient for patient care.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program, with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associate's Degree in Nursing with Nursing experience.
- Current registration in New York State as a Registered Nurse.
- Relevant clinical competence in the area of nursing practice assigned, with new graduates possessing current knowledge of the nursing process and its application.
- Certifications in Basic Life Saver (BCLS), NRP (Labor and Delivery, NICU dept), ACLS (in ED; PACU/ASU; ICUs; Telemetry Units; SDU; IR, Interventional Cardiology (CCL/EP/Echo); L&D; Endoscopy, and APN Adult Oncology), and PALS (in ED; PACU; Endoscopy; IR; Peds ICU, and APNs Pediatric Oncology depts).
