Clinical Nurse-MedSurge-10W-Mount Sinai Hospital-FT/Nights

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities- Deliver patient care by incorporating the principles of Relationship Centered Care and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills to manage patient care.
- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care, and delegate to others as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate allocation of material resources effectively.
- Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred; Associate degree in nursing considered with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program if approved by Chief Nursing Officer or designee.
- Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice assigned; new graduates must possess current knowledge of the nursing process and its application.
- Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State.
- Basic Life Saver (BCLS) certification.
- NRP (Labor and Delivery, NICU department) certification.
- ACLS (in ED; PACU/ASU; ICUs; Telemetry Units; SDU; IR, Interventional Cardiology (CCL/EP/Echo); L&D; Endoscopy, and APN Adult Oncology) certification.
- PALS (in ED; PACU; IR; Peds ICU, and APNs Pediatric Oncology departments) certification.
