How You Will Achieve Your Potential

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and their families at the Cancer Center in a courteous and professional manner while efficiently completing the registration process.
  • Work alongside the Navigation Staff to identify patients requiring financial assistance, distribute relevant applications, and provide support resources.
  • Assist with navigation within the facility; facilitate check-in for non-patient visitors, including pharmaceutical representatives and vendors.
  • Manage incoming phone calls; respond to urgent situations effectively.
  • Monitor waiting areas for extended wait times and address patient-related issues.
  • Alert appropriate care team members of any patient-related concerns or delays while collaborating with schedulers to ensure a seamless check-in process.
  • Pre-register all encounters at the Cancer Center for upcoming visits to reduce wait times.
  • Complete registration for all patient appointments at the Cancer Center, including provider visits, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, genetic counseling, lab appointments, and educational sessions.
  • Accurately input and verify patient demographics, insurance details, and emergency contacts; scan insurance cards into the EMR; obtain necessary patient signatures for HIPAA and Privacy Policy Acknowledgment; collect and reconcile co-pays for medical and radiation oncology services.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

Educational Background

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

• Completion of an AAS in health administration, business, finance, or a related field is preferred.

Experience and Skills

• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, with a working knowledge of insurance processes preferred.

• Basic understanding of medical terminology is preferred.

• Familiarity with anatomy and physiology is preferred.

• Strong computer, phone, and customer service skills are essential.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.

Salary Range

The expected base rate for this position is between $18.00 and $25.87 per hour, determined on a case-by-case basis according to experience, education, and relevant certifications.
