Job Title: Healthcare Referral Specialist

Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled Healthcare Referral Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for managing insurance authorizations and referrals for patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorization from providers and payers.
  • Interview patients to apprise them of their insurance benefits and secure payment arrangements.
  • Monitor patient waiting areas for extended wait times and patient-related problems.
  • Develop knowledge of all medications and procedures performed and payer authorization requirements for each.
  • Advise providers and clinical staff when issues arise relating to obtaining prior authorization.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of an AAS in health administration, business, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding desired.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and third-party payer regulations desired.
  • Excellent computer, phone, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to type 60 WPM.
  • Strong organization skills required.
