About the Role

The Asset Management Intern will play a key role in supporting the Asset Management team in managing loan deficiencies and collections. This position will provide hands-on experience in reviewing and organizing charged-off loan files, compiling approved files for attorney review, and responding to inquiries from collection agencies and attorney firms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and organize charged-off loan files with deficiency balances for potential placements.
  2. Compile approved files and appropriate paperwork to forward to attorneys.
  3. Respond to inquiries from collection agencies and attorney firms and escalate complex matters to other team members.
  4. Document the collection system with updates on active files.
  5. Assist the department in other collection-related activities as assigned by the Asset Management team members, Asset Management Supervisor, or VP, Asset Management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School or GED equivalent required. A candidate for a BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance or other related major preferred.
  • Proficiency in multitasking, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required. Other BI applications are a plus.
  • Ability to lift file boxes up to 25lbs.
