Die Cutter Operator

Vomela Specialty Company is seeking a skilled Die Cutter to join our team. As a Die Cutter, you will be responsible for operating machinery to cut out parts to a specified size and shape, and performing scoring and face cutting on a variety of materials.
Key Responsibilities- Operate cutting machines to produce high-quality parts
- Perform routine maintenance on press and feeder, including lubrication and minor repairs
- Sharpen cutting edges of dies to ensure optimal performance
- Insert die board in chase, align, and lock-up, and position chase in press
- Adjust guide, fingers, gauge pins, and grippers for die cutting and face cutting
- Run proof samples and secure supervisor's approval for production run
- Measure or compare parts with standard to verify conformance to specifications
- Start press, adjust speed, adjust feeder or feeds sheets, and remove cut parts from die or bed of machine
- May be required to change die rubber
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Die Cutter experience, preferably with clamshell experience
- Printing shop experience
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and push/pull 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
