Job Summary

At RAYUS Radiology, we're challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment.

We're seeking a Scheduling Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional services to patients and referring professionals by answering phones, managing faxes, and scheduling appointments.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Scheduling (85%):

* Answer phones and handle calls in a professional and timely manner
* Maintain positive interactions at all times with patients, referring offices, and staff
* Schedule patient examinations according to existing company policy
* Ensure all appropriate personal, financial, and insurance information is obtained and recorded accurately
* Ensure all patient data is entered into information systems completely and accurately
* Ensure patients are advised of financial responsibilities, appropriate clothing, preparation kits, transportation, and/or eating prior to appointment
* Communicate to technologists any scheduling changes to ensure highest patient satisfaction
* Maintain an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
* Handle overflow calls for other centers within the market to ensure uninterrupted exam scheduling for referring offices
* Provide backup coverage for front office staff as requested by supervisor (i.e., rest breaks, vacations, and sick leave)
* Field 1-800 number calls and route to appropriate department or associate (St. Louis Park only)
* Insurance (10%):

* Pre-certify all exams with patient's insurance company as required
* Verify insurance for same-day add-ons
* Use knowledge of insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
* Completes other tasks as assigned

**Requirements:**

* Required:

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Microsoft Office Suite experience
* Proficient with using computer systems and typing
* Able to handle multi-level phone system with a high volume of calls at one time
* Preferred:

* 1-2 year customer service experience
* Medical terminology and previous clinical business office experience
* Bilingual
