About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Retail Events Coordinator at Michaels. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating events, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties, craft classes, and other events, to provide a stress-free and engaging experience for our guests.
  • Customer Service: Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions to their needs.
  • Checkout Experience: Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Operational Tasks: Complete operational tasks, including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards, to deliver our Brand Promises.
  • Communication: Communicate events with clients and store team members, and complete administrative tasks, such as answering emails and making phone calls, as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs, and create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events, and uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Experience: Retail and/or customer service experience required.
  • Skills: Excellent people skills, experience working with children and children's events, good communication skills, including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to remain standing for long periods of time, move throughout the store, and lift heavy boxes and access high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
