Quality Technician (ECT Process)

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections on critical components utilized in the ECT production process.
  • Engage in diverse inspection tasks within the ECT finishing sectors.
  • Operate and/or program various mechanical and electronic inspection instruments.
  • Facilitate and assist in training Finishers and Inspectors on the use of mechanical and electronic measurement tools.
  • Coordinate and execute gauge repeatability and reproducibility assessments (gauge R&RS) on both new and existing measurement devices.
  • Perform mechanical evaluations using tools such as calipers and micrometers for in-process and final part verifications.
  • Conduct internal quality audits, prepare audit reports, and ensure follow-up on corrective measures.
  • Support the maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100:D quality management system certifications.
  • Assist in the development and upkeep of Statistical Process Control (SPC) data for various ECT processes.
  • Contribute to quality-related aspects of new product development and implementation in the Request for Quote Process (RFQ).
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to address nonconforming products for prompt resolution.
  • Participate in root cause analysis of customer claims and lead the formulation, execution, and validation of corrective actions to avert future issues.
  • Become the expert in the Quality Management System for the ECT division of the organization.
  • Assist and/or spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing the Quality Management System.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of personal accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Expertise in mechanical inspection methodologies, tools, and devices.
  • Familiarity with various inspection techniques and methods.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical drawings with proficiency in GD&T.
  • ASQ certification as a Quality Inspector and Quality Technician or willingness to obtain ASQ certifications within one year of employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications.
Preferred Experience/Education:
  • Experience in performing first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Advanced skills in blueprint reading.
  • Knowledge of inspection techniques, including dial calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Basic understanding and application of Statistical Process Control.
  • Experience with statistical sampling plans.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100:D quality system standards.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience working with tight tolerances and complex components.
  • Proficiency in Minitab statistical software.
  • Familiarity with CMM measurement and analysis.
  • A minimum of a two-year technical or engineering degree.
