Job Overview

As a Construction Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating construction projects to ensure they meet our esteemed standards of quality, communication, and timeline adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Oversight:
Collaborate with stakeholders, including client representatives, municipal inspectors, and subcontractors, to maintain high-quality standards and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

2. On-Site Management:
Direct and organize all on-site activities related to construction, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently.

3. Incident Management:
Investigate any damages, accidents, or delays on-site to ensure compliance with established procedures and safety protocols.

4. Financial Oversight:
Manage project finances, including budget oversight, change order management, and approval of payment applications.

  • Ensure all back charges are communicated effectively prior to submission.

5. Material Verification:
Confirm the delivery of materials and ensure adherence to procurement standards.

6. Subcontractor Coordination:
Conduct weekly meetings with subcontractor foremen to review and agree on upcoming work activities and required manpower.

7. Client Engagement:
Hold regular meetings with clients to ensure their needs and expectations are being met.

8. Site Maintenance:
Ensure the job site remains organized and free of debris to promote a safe and efficient working environment.

9. Compliance Assurance:
Ensure adherence to OSHA guidelines and other safety regulations.

10. Project Closeout:
Oversee project punch list and closeout processes to meet company standards.

11. Status Reporting:
Provide weekly updates to the operations leader regarding project status.

12. Accountability:
Hold team members accountable for their performance and ensure adherence to project schedules.

13. Scheduling Management:
Update project schedules weekly and distribute two-week lookaheads to project teams.

14. Software Management:
Utilize Procore for managing project documentation, including photos, daily reports, submittals, RFIs, schedules, punch lists, tasks, and other essential documents.

15. Leadership Reporting:
Prepare and submit a leadership report every Friday to the VP of Construction.

Qualifications:

1. Decision-Making Skills:
Ability to make sound judgments on a daily basis.

2. Detail-Oriented:
Exceptional attention to detail is required to understand project documents thoroughly.

3. Organizational Skills:
Strong organizational abilities are essential for managing multiple tasks effectively.

4. Software Proficiency:
Experience with Procore and other estimating platforms is preferred.

5. Communication Skills:
Experience in professional communication and interaction is necessary.

6. Initiative:
Ability to take initiative and solve problems independently.

7. Reliability:
Punctuality and reliability are crucial for this role.

8. Confidentiality:
Must maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work.

9. Construction Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry is preferred.

10. Team Collaboration:
Ability to work collaboratively and recognize when assistance is needed.

11. Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as necessary to support the VP of Construction.

12. Monthly Reviews:
Participate in monthly meetings with the VP of Construction to review job schedules.
