Position: Transmission Planning Engineer

Since the initiation of our first energy storage project in 2018, we have established ourselves as leaders in energy storage development, currently managing over 22 GW of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable projects in various stages of development, alongside 33 projects in operation or construction across North America.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver analytical support and insights for a growing portfolio of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable, and hybrid projects.
  • Conduct power flow analyses to evaluate the potential impacts and costs associated with integrating new generation into the existing system.
  • Examine the technical and commercial viability of initiating or acquiring new projects.
  • Generate planning-level cost estimates for interconnection facilities.
  • Compile summaries, reports, and other documentation of technical findings for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Engage in research and development of power flow models, ensuring data validation and accurate project modeling.
  • Enhance and automate processes to foster an efficient workflow.
  • Perform additional duties as required or assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with proficiency in at least one PowerFLOW software, such as TARA, PSSE, or PSLF.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degrees are considered an asset.
  • Experience in one or more electric markets, including CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, or NYISO.
  • Familiarity with NERC planning standards.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java is preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like ArcGIS or PowerBI is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Highly organized with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively.

Salary: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.

Bonus: An annual performance-based bonus will be awarded based on individual contributions and overall business success.
