Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute transmission planning strategies to support the development of Cubico's renewable energy projects in the USA.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the USA Development team, USA Country Head and Origination team, and Global Technical Team, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Lead the analysis of transmission constraints and evaluate curtailment and congestion forecasts to inform project development decisions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including regional transmission organizations, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Manage transmission analysis and modeling, including the use of tools such as PROMOD, PSS/E, and PowerWorld.
- Provide strategic guidance on transmission planning and development to project teams, including estimating, scheduling, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and operation and maintenance.
- Monitor and understand electricity market policy and rules with respect to interconnection and transmission planning, and provide recommendations to the project teams.
- Lead the development of business cases for transmission projects, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with EPC firms to ensure reliable and cost-effective electrical design of contracted plants.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a similar engineering background.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a transmission analysis role, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Working experience in or direct interaction experience with major regional transmission organizations such as MISO, PJM, SPP, CAISO, and ERCOT.
- Understanding of electricity market policy and rules with respect to interconnection and transmission planning.
- Working knowledge of high voltage EPC systems, including High Voltage Substation and Transmission line modifications/upgrades.
