Gifts and Financial Coordinator

About the Role:
The Gifts and Financial Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the Development team at InsideHigherEd. This position will be responsible for coordinating all gift transactions and gift accounting, as well as overseeing budget administration and financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of the University's gift, financial, and development systems, policies, and procedures.
- Organize and maintain confidential files and records associated with fundraising activities.
- Process high-volume gifts received for the Development team, utilizing development databases to retrieve and verify donor and gift information.
- Provide information to inquiries from various constituencies concerning ways to make contributions to the Medical Center.
- Coordinate all financial transactions for the Development team, utilizing financial systems to place orders, create and manage purchase orders, and facilitate sponsorship requests.
- Work cooperatively with Business Administrators to follow University financial procedures and troubleshoot to manage financial transactions.
- Research, reconcile, and provide general quality assurance for problematic gifts and financial transactions.
- Execute and maintain reporting systems for budget/finance/gift needs.
Requirements:
- Minimal high school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred; gift, accounting, or financial experience preferred.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Word and advanced Excel skills essential.
- Ability to handle complex and highly confidential materials.
- Five to seven years general office experience required, one year in Development setting highly desirable.
