Position Overview

The Financial Coordinator for Parish Services plays a vital role in supporting the pastor and the parish staff by managing and overseeing the financial documentation of designated parishes and/or educational institutions. This position encompasses responsibilities such as recording financial transactions, processing invoices, handling payroll, reconciling financial statements, and preparing fiscal reports. The Financial Coordinator will operate from the central office and will extend assistance to parishes and schools throughout the Archdiocese as required.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring precise financial documentation for parishes and schools
  • Reconciling financial accounts using accounting software
  • Overseeing parish cash flow and account management
  • Collaborating with parish organizations to share financial data
  • Adhering to Archdiocesan policies and financial standards
  • Acting as a resource for financial inquiries

Qualifications:

  • Expertise: Proficient in accounting software and spreadsheet applications, understanding of Church organizational structure
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, capacity to maintain confidentiality, strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and effective communication
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in bookkeeping, ideally with accounting software
