Job Overview

Strategic Alliance Consulting, Inc. is in search of a Senior User Interface Developer to play a pivotal role in overseeing the management of Foundation GEOINT standards databases. This position involves making database modifications, generating reports, and contributing to the development and upkeep of the FGS-DPS Cloud database and its user interface.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate as a vital member of the Source Foundation GEOINT (SF) Standards Team, focusing on web and tool development that fosters clear and transparent communication among customers, intelligence community, Department of Defense, and commercial stakeholders globally.
  • Design and manage responsive web layouts while applying principles of effective user experience (UX). Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML editors, and other web publishing tools is essential.
  • Translate technical designs and specifications into functional web solutions.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork abilities, self-motivation, and comfort in a complex development environment, coupled with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Adopt a user-centered design methodology, conducting rapid testing and iterations of designs.
  • Engage with clients to comprehend detailed requirements and craft comprehensive user experiences that align with client objectives and vision.
  • Participate in the Defense Geospatial Information Working Group (DGIWG) technical meetings, contributing to an international forum on Symbology Standards.
  • Update Data Product Specification (DPS) databases and GEOINT Content Extraction Specification (GCES) databases.
  • Generate custom reports for DPS to support standards development in various formats including PDF, XLS, and MySQL.
  • Assist the Senior DBA/System Integrator with cloud migration tasks, which include:
    • Enhancing metrics tools and reporting capabilities.
    • Improving the user interface for the FGS-DPS cloud instance.
    • Providing training on all tools and functionalities for NGA and contractor personnel.
    • Support GCES/DPS maintenance updates and functionality enhancements quarterly, addressing high-priority bug fixes as needed to ensure operational integrity.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Possession of an active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Web Design or IT with a focus on web development, complemented by 1-3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent senior-level experience as a User Interface Developer.
  • At least 1 year of experience in System Engineering, System Integration, and Web Development/Web-based communication tools.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Apache, PostGRES/Relational Database, and PHP/Python (LAMP).
  • Expertise in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and User Experience Design (UXD – UI/UX).
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Adobe XD, or Axure, along with other web publishing tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience with User Interface design within the Intelligence Community.
  • Knowledge of AWS (Amazon Web Services) tools and technologies, and familiarity with Git repositories.
  • Understanding of website analytics and other metrics systems.
  • Acquainted with Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
