Monday-Friday 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM

The Clinical Support Specialist plays a crucial role during patient interactions, assisting the dermatologist and fostering a welcoming and efficient atmosphere for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities:

Key Functions:
Rooming patients and documenting vital information

Scribing details for the dermatologist

Providing post-operative wound care

Drawing blood and performing suture removal

Cleaning and stocking examination rooms

Coordinating patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:
Surgical photography

Biopsies – punch, DIF, and shave

Excisions

Electrodessication and curettage

Incision and drainage

Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery

Phototherapy

Injections

KOH preparations

Trichograms

Tzanck preparations

Dermabrasion

Patch testing

Blue light therapy

Qualifications:

Education:


A minimum of post-secondary education in a medical support field is required: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants must complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the specified timeframe and maintain certification thereafter).

Post-secondary education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office setting is preferred

Must maintain current state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations for continued employment

Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as necessary

Proficiency in computer use, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with staff, clients, and visitors

Capability to multi-task, prioritize tasks appropriately, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
