Job Summary

A Research Technician I position is available in the Department of Oral Biology at the University at Buffalo. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining animal colonies, sampling specimens, preparing specimens for histology, and conducting histological and molecular analyses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain animal colonies, including breeding and genotyping
  • Sample specimens and prepare them for histology
  • Conduct histological and molecular analyses, including mRNA and protein expression
  • Record microscopic images
Requirements
  • Education in a specific field and at least one year of experience directly related to the research or the program
  • Prior experience working in a research laboratory and ability to work independently
  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory protocols
  • Competence in molecular biology techniques, including DNA and RNA extraction and qPCR
  • Experience working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic imaging software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related life sciences
