Job Summary:

Sales Consultant is responsible for selling new and used vehicles at a profit to the dealership, while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet dealership sales goals.
  • Greet customers and determine their vehicle preferences.
  • Explain features and demonstrate vehicle operation in the showroom or on a demonstration drive.
  • Suggest optional equipment for customers to purchase.
  • Compute and quote sales prices, including tax, trade-in allowance, and discount.
  • Complete paperwork accompanying vehicle sales, including preparing sales slips or sales contracts.
  • Arrange for vehicle delivery and registration.
  • Research vehicle availability and optional equipment.
  • Engage in business development.
  • Address customer concerns.
  • Maintain CSI at or above Company standards.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Participate in required training.
  • Record all hours worked accurately in the company timekeeping system.
  • Follow Safeguards rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate the Company's Core Values.
  • Comply with Company policies and procedures.
  • Observe all Federal, State, Local, and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education:

A GED, High School Diploma, Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, Master Degree, or Doctorate Degree is preferred.

Field of Study/Work Experience:

A background in Accounting, Automotive, Business, Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field is desired.

Desired Work Experience:

Up to 3 years of sales and/or customer service experience is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

A valid Driver's License is required. An Automobile Salesperson License is also preferred.

Computer Skills:

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn web applications for customer management are required.

Communication Skills:

The ability to understand and follow instructions, communicate effectively with customers and company personnel, and maintain a positive attitude is essential.

Attendance Requirements:

The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand, walk, and sit, and may be exposed to various work environments and required to perform a variety of tasks.

Environment Demands:

Duties are performed throughout the premises, both indoors and outdoors, and on customer test drives. Heavy standing work is required.

Verbal and Writing Ability:

The ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations is required.

Math Ability:

The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide is essential.

Reasoning Ability:

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with standardized situations is required.
