About the Team

The TikTok Privacy Product team is dedicated to fulfilling our privacy and compliance obligations while ensuring an exceptional user experience for content consumption, creation, and enjoyment on TikTok.

As a member of this team, the product manager will concentrate on developing innovative product solutions that adhere to global regulations concerning user empowerment and accountability.

This dynamic role requires advanced problem-solving skills across international markets, along with a relentless entrepreneurial mindset. You will be instrumental in shaping the product strategy aimed at creating a secure platform and leading initiatives to guarantee a safe and empowered user experience.

The position necessitates a profound comprehension of regulatory compliance, strong analytical capabilities, effective interpersonal skills, and a creative approach. It involves navigating complex challenges characterized by unclear requirements.

Within the US product team, your emphasis will be on thoroughly understanding our users, pinpointing areas for enhancement, prioritizing critical issues, and rapidly formulating innovative, user-centric solutions.

We seek seasoned product managers who consistently elevate privacy standards while enhancing both new and existing user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a crucial role in defining product strategies that align with the changing global legal and regulatory landscape of the technology sector.
  • Collaborate with the legal department to establish and prioritize product requirements based on new legislation and emerging regulatory trends.
  • Work closely with product and cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and high-quality execution of product compliance initiatives.
  • Design and implement scalable privacy product solutions that support various organizational teams and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement by ensuring alignment on shared organizational objectives and promoting best practices across teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with data privacy and social media regulations, with experience collaborating with legal teams to drive compliance and regulatory projects.
  • Strong strategic planning abilities with a product-solution-oriented mindset, capable of adapting swiftly to changes and navigating ambiguity.
  • Robust analytical and quantitative skills, with the capacity to utilize data and metrics to assess assumptions, make informed recommendations, and drive execution.
  • Proven understanding of project management with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to articulate a vision and unite an organization around it.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management within consumer-facing technology companies.
