New America is looking for candidates with a keen interest in social media marketing and communications for a paid internship in the realm of Social Media.

This role will assist in enhancing New America's social media initiatives as part of the Central Communications team. It presents a fantastic opportunity for students or recent graduates eager to delve into the fields of communications or marketing.


Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate 20-30 hours weekly, with a combination of in-office and remote work.

- Craft engaging content and source visuals for social media platforms.

- Support the Senior Social Media Manager in executing campaigns aimed at promoting research on various policy matters.

- Develop captivating social media content, including graphics and video elements.

- Analyze social media metrics alongside the digital team to uncover effective content strategies.

- Stay informed on current events and social trends to inspire content creation, proposing ideas based on thorough research.

- Perform additional administrative tasks as needed, such as monitoring press coverage and assisting with event logistics.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication abilities.

- Proficient understanding of social media platforms, including LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook.

- Strong attention to detail, coupled with excellent organizational and time management skills.

- A genuine curiosity, drive, and eagerness to learn on the job.

- Experience or a demonstrated interest in social media marketing, content creation, and public relations.

- Familiarity with New America's mission and public policy interests.

- Basic skills in design tools such as Canva, InShot, Sprout Social, or similar platforms.

- Experience in content creation, particularly in graphic design and short-form video production.

- Knowledge or demonstrated interest in social media analytics.


Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is $18.
