Position Overview:

The Director of Medical Services is responsible for overseeing one or more narcotic treatment programs (NTP) within the organization. This role involves direct patient care, medical assessments, establishing appropriate dosing protocols, and liaising with various regulatory agencies. The Director will also mentor and supervise physician extenders, ensuring high standards of care are maintained under the guidance of the executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting interviews, training, and performance evaluations for physician extenders.
  • Implementing and upholding medical policies and training programs.
  • Assisting in the development of clinical protocols and procedures.
  • Managing regulatory compliance, including federal and state applications and inspections.
  • Engaging with key regulatory bodies and accreditation organizations as needed.
  • Providing necessary reports and data to executive leadership.

Patient Care Duties:

  • Overseeing the treatment planning and delivery for patients, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
  • Documenting patient care activities and maintaining accurate records.
  • Evaluating patients and conducting thorough physical examinations.
  • Initiating and managing medication-assisted treatment protocols.
  • Supervising medication administration and dispensing processes.
  • Providing education to patients regarding their treatment and recovery.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in any medical specialty.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in addiction medicine or primary care.
  • Current medical license in the state of practice.
  • Ability to prescribe methadone and buprenorphine.
  • Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
