POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the delivery of food and beverages, including taking orders and ensuring timely service.

This role requires a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare the service area before, during, and after shifts, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup.
  • Welcome guests warmly, informing them about specials and promotions, and discussing beverage options.
  • Present bread selections, detailing each option available.
  • Accurately record guest orders, confirming details to ensure precision, and upsell whenever possible.
  • Input orders into the Point of Sale system to relay specifics to the kitchen staff using designated buttons.
  • Retrieve orders from the kitchen, ensuring all items meet quality standards while adhering to liquor regulations.
  • Clear tables of used items and refresh settings as needed, including replacing napkins if guests leave the table.
  • Monitor beverage levels and check in with guests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Offer dessert options and specialty coffees upon request.
  • Present checks to guests in a timely manner and process payments efficiently.
  • Assist server assistants in clearing and resetting tables as needed.
  • Support server assistants with food quality checks, garnishing, and presentation of all food items.
  • Complete assigned side work, including restocking condiments and maintaining service areas.
  • Engage in general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products to meet health standards.
  • Fold napkins at the start and end of shifts.
  • Ensure all areas are stocked with ice and linens at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Transport soiled linens at the end of the shift.
  • Assist the host(ess) with greeting guests, managing coats, and answering phones when necessary.
  • Polish glassware and silverware to maintain presentation standards.
  • Restock wine supplies at the end of shifts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Familiarity with appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu offerings.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand menus, promotions, and guest orders.
  • Capacity to remember and promote a diverse range of menu items.
  • Physical ability to carry large trays weighing up to 30 lbs. through busy dining areas consistently throughout shifts.
  • Proficiency in operating a keyboard and learning Point of Sale procedures for order processing and payment handling.
  • Previous experience in food and beverage service is required; hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Commitment to maintaining uniform standards.
  • Willingness to learn about wine varieties, vintages, and labels.
  • Ability to understand various types of liquor, cordials, and their appropriate glassware.
  • Dedication to upholding service standards and departmental guidelines.
  • Understanding of proper etiquette in a dining environment.
