Job Summary

The Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans seeks a dedicated and compassionate individual to serve as a Head Start Teacher Aide. This role is a vital part of our early childhood education team, supporting the Head Start Teacher in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head Start Teacher to develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Head Start Philosophy and meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment, adhering to program guidelines and educational standards.
  • Engage with families through regular communication, ensuring a strong partnership in supporting children's growth and development.
  • Conduct daily health checks, monitor classroom conditions, and perform various administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all interactions with children, families, and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Hold a CDA certification or an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate expertise in verbal and written communication, with the ability to effectively interact with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Be a mandated reporter for potential child abuse or neglect cases, with a strong commitment to ensuring child safety and well-being.
