Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of on-hand inventory throughout the company. This position oversees all aspects of the physical inventory process and has oversight for the manual inventory process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the physical inventory process, including scheduling, developing instructions, reconciling and analyzing results, and reporting.
  • Develop and execute a periodic cycle count program to ensure accuracy of on-hand inventory for key SKUs.
  • Closely work with store and field associates to ensure personnel are trained on current and appropriate inventory procedures.
  • Analyze, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in the company inventory records.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with store, distribution centers, support center, and field associates for all matters involving inventory.
  • Responsible for oversight of the Mark out of Stock (MOS) system and the development of MOS best practices.
  • Responsible for oversight of the manual inventory adjustment process for stores and distribution centers.
  • Develop company inventory control best practices and roll out inventory control processes to stores.
  • Support the accounts payable team as needed with processing invoices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business/finance.
  • Minimum of three years of accounting experience or demonstration of skills and learning through an internal development program and selection process.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively in a professional environment.
  • Efficient planning, prioritization, and implementation of detailed instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all team members, guests, and customers.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to complete assignments in the allotted time.
  • Knowledge of JDA software is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Physical ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
  • Duties may frequently involve the use of computers and being seated for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly.
  • Ability to grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
  • Ability to bend and twist occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
