Key Responsibilities:

The Vehicle Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal role in the Fleet Operations team, working closely with the Director of Fleet to oversee and enhance all fleet-related initiatives and activities.

  • Ensure the safety and integrity of all vehicles within the fleet.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Department regarding incidents involving fleet equipment.
  • Monitor vehicle damage reporting and ensure timely repairs.
  • Review daily and weekly Department of Transportation inspections from all operational centers.
  • Guarantee compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with fleet teams across centers to authorize repairs and manage purchase orders.
  • Conduct training sessions on safety and operational procedures.
  • Schedule necessary repairs and maintenance services.
  • Negotiate repair rates with service facilities.
  • Oversee the operation of company-owned repair facilities.
  • Manage and direct subordinate staff to meet organizational objectives.
  • Negotiate procurement of automotive supplies and equipment.
  • Stay informed on technological advancements and regulatory changes.
  • Analyze expenses related to purchases and repairs to maintain budgetary control.
  • Promote a positive work culture and employee engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with other departments and external partners.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Collaborate with management on personnel matters, including hiring and performance evaluations.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities aligned with company goals.
  • Involve management staff in strategic planning and process enhancements.
  • Identify and address potential personnel risks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fleet management or automotive services.
  • Preferred management experience.
  • Ability to interact with regulatory agencies and contractors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; Class A CDL preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of integrity.
  • Demonstrated reliability and professionalism in past roles.
