About the Role

Alta California Regional Center is seeking a highly skilled Developmental Center Specialist to join our team in the Sacramento office. As a key member of our team, you will provide consultation, advocacy, and resource information to clients who may be an alleged offender and require a civil commitment due to competency proceedings or acute crisis support needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation services to case management staff regarding client suitability for placement under a legal hold
  • Participate in community activities, including conducting trainings and participating in committees to promote collaboration with outside agencies and development of a network of contacts to improve services to clients involved with the criminal justice system and/or that have acute crisis support needs
  • Report to DDS on client updates and coordinate and facilitate client's step-down plan upon discharge from the DC
  • Act as a liaison between case management staff and specialized crisis service vendors, as assigned, and act as a Facility Liaison to specialized homes and conduct quarterly assurance activities, as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • One year of professional experience in social work or a related field (preferably in the field of developmental disabilities)
