This is an entry-level position for an Auditor I. Under the supervision of a Supervising Governmental Auditor I, the Auditor I is responsible for executing basic auditing functions related to the financial records and accounts of regional centers and vendors that receive State and Federal funding aimed at supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. The audits are conducted to ensure adherence to fiscal and programmatic standards set forth by State and Federal regulations. The Auditor I will receive training from the Supervising Governmental Auditor I and General Auditor III within the Audit Section.

This role is eligible for participation in a hybrid telework schedule as per the guidelines established by the Department of Developmental Services.

Working Conditions

The incumbent may be required to remain seated for extended periods while utilizing a keyboard and mouse, approximately 75% to 85% of the time, for document review and preparation of lead sheets. The role requires travel, approximately 50% of the time, throughout the State of California, which may include overnight stays from Monday to Friday. Transportation may involve air travel and/or driving. Carpooling and other cost-reduction methods are encouraged for most travel needs. The incumbent may need to lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds to transport luggage, audit documentation, and equipment, such as a laptop and audit case, to and from audit locations. Additionally, the incumbent is required to complete 80 hours of continuing professional education training every two years, as mandated by the California Association of State Auditors. A valid driver's license may be necessary.
