Located in South Central Virginia, VCU Health serves a diverse population across multiple counties, including neighboring North Carolina.

The team at VCU Health comprises skilled Board-Certified physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, Emergency Department Technicians, Unit Secretaries, and nursing leadership.

VCU Health is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center, providing care for a wide range of patients from infants to the elderly.

The Emergency Department's patient volume is steadily increasing, with projections to reach 26,000 patients by the end of the fiscal year.

This dynamic environment offers invaluable experience in managing various patient cases, from urgent care to critical conditions such as trauma, stroke, sepsis, and STEMI.

The Clinical Operations Coordinator is responsible for facilitating patient flow and coordinating activities and communication within the clinical nursing unit during their assigned shift.

This role acts as a resource and leader for patients, staff, healthcare providers, administration, and other disciplines.

The Clinical Operations Coordinator ensures that patient care is delivered efficiently, compassionately, and courteously to all patients.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact state

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Current RN licensure in Virginia AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience

Charge Nurse experience or supervisory experience

Experience PREFERRED:
Experience in Academic Health Care

Experience with similar patient demographics in an acute care setting or relevant area of practice

Education/training REQUIRED:
Diploma or Associate's Degree from an accredited nursing program recognized by the state's Board of Nursing.


All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.


Education/training PREFERRED:
Certification in a specialty area. Completion of a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Nursing from an accredited institution
