Job Title: Technology Education Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Technology Education Teacher to join our team at Mecklenburg County Middle School.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing technology education curriculum, promoting a safe and conducive learning environment, and teaching students essential skills in technology education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer technology education curriculum aligned with school district goals and objectives.
  • Promote a classroom environment that fosters individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize available time for instruction.
  • Teach knowledge and skills in typing, note-taking, computer systems, troubleshooting, computer networking, and other technology-related subjects to secondary students.
  • Provide instruction on the use and development of skills in 3-D printing, technology, and other technology used in manufacturing and product development.
  • Prepare instructional aids and display materials to enhance learning.
  • Instruct students in the safe operation of business equipment.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs.
  • Continuously acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field.
  • Organize and maintain accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance.
  • Encourage parental involvement in students' education, and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
  • Ensure student conduct conforms with school standards and policies, and establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
  • Coordinate with other professional staff members, and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
  • Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids, and other supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory records.
Requirements:
  • State certification as required for position.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
Working Conditions:

Work in standard office and school building environments.
