Role Description:

The selected candidate will engage in cybersecurity system security engineering tasks that support all stages of system development, focusing on Cybersecurity/Systems Security Engineering and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating system security requirements, architecture, design, development, evaluation, certification, and accreditation.
  • Collaborating with Product Teams to ensure secure operating systems, applications, networks, hardware, and databases.
  • Conducting routine maintenance, including patch management.
  • Executing vulnerability assessments and addressing identified issues.
  • Implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Managing multiple concurrent tasks effectively.
  • Applying risk management principles to reduce vulnerabilities in security frameworks.
  • Preparing Authorization to Operate (ATO) documentation, including baselines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), System Security Plans (SSP), Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), and Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&M).
  • Performing standard systems administration duties, such as password resets and responding to helpdesk inquiries.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security+).
  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework in a Defense and Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) accredited setting.
  • Capability to work towards obtaining and sustaining ATOs.
  • Experience in implementing STIGs and monitoring compliance through the Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M).
  • Understanding of Patch Management using tools like Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and Red Hat Satellite.
  • Knowledge of Vulnerability Management with tools such as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution.
  • Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, or a master's degree with 3 years of experience, or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • Additional certifications in Operating System Environments (e.g., Linux+, RHCSA, Net+, CCNA, VMware Certified).
  • Experience with automation tools, such as Ansible.

Salary Range: $112,000 - $169,000
This salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
