Position Overview
MISC. is seeking a Cybersecurity Software Engineer to contribute to our mission. The ideal candidate must possess an active secret clearance and be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in software engineering tasks to support the organization's cybersecurity initiatives, simulating adversarial tactics in Computer Network Attack, Computer Network Exploitation, and Computer Network Defense.
- Identify needs and create software solutions based on insights and feedback gathered from cybersecurity exercises.
- Enhance skills in cybersecurity operations by participating in and observing relevant exercises.
- Facilitate mission and training activities by developing innovative technical and non-technical solutions to uncover and exploit vulnerabilities in information systems.
- Conduct research on exploitation and vulnerabilities, design and develop tools (software, applications, scripts), manage test environments, and perform additional assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of network and security protocols.
- Utilize network protocol analysis tools and possess the capability to interpret packet captures.
- Collaborate effectively with management, team members, vendors, and external partners.
- Replicate adversarial strategies.
Qualifications
- Must hold an active Secret clearance and be capable of obtaining TS/SCI clearance.
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as C++ and C#.
- Strong self-management, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to perform penetration testing on applications, systems, and networks using established methodologies and industry standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of current threats, vulnerabilities, and exploit techniques.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to decompose complex issues into manageable tasks and implement effective solutions.
- Certifications such as CEH and CISSP are preferred but not mandatory.
Business Development Support
Contribute to business development efforts as needed to align with strategic objectives, which may involve participating in technical discussions, drafting technical documentation, and assisting with proposal development and reviews.
Physical Requirements
- Comfortable with extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.
- Able to lift weights up to 10-15 pounds.
Travel Expectations
Willingness to travel up to 15% as required.
