Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding them to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Develop and implement multi-year cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for each portfolio member, ensuring alignment with donor interests and philanthropic goals.
  • Travel throughout the assigned area to make donor and prospect visits, exploring opportunities for growth and development.
  • Implement a structured program for fostering strong relationships with targeted individual and institutional donor constituencies, involving key stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure the successful execution of all development strategy, including planning, execution, and follow-up of donor trips and fundraising events.
  • Partner with local board members to identify, train, and support fundraising volunteers in outreach and solicitation efforts.
  • Contribute to long-range strategic planning for NPH USA, preparing annual operating plans and budgets that incorporate fundraising projections.
  • Oversee the selection, performance management, and development of direct reports, focusing on growing skill levels in fundraising and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of fundraising experience, with executive leadership experience preferred.
  • A proven track record in leading fundraising campaigns, with extensive nonprofit fundraising experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Broad-based knowledge of and experience with various development activities, including planned giving, major gift programs, event planning, and direct solicitations.
  • An exceptional communicator, with strong writing and verbal skills, and the ability to analyze and formulate disparate information into a sound plan.
  • Experience engaging volunteers and staff in the fundraising process, preferably for a national organization or one that funds services for children.
  • A leader who has a history of success in coaching/mentoring staff to be the best they can be in nonprofit development work, creating a collaborative and professionally fulfilling work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed, with a valid driver's license and personal transportation.
