Retail Store Associate

Starting base pay @ $16.00

We are seeking a Part-Time Retail Store Associate to become a vital member of our collaborative Store Team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals without prior sales experience. The position offers paid on-the-job training in a supportive role while acquiring effective selling techniques. At Lamps Plus, we view this position as a stepping stone to more rewarding roles, allowing you to leverage your newly acquired skills for financial success. Candidates in this role will be encouraged to transition into a fully commissioned sales position with unlimited earning potential after completing a reasonable training period with the stock team. Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensures retail quality control by verifying the receipt of merchandise through item counts.
  • Handles incoming merchandise deliveries and aids in loading and unloading in-store inventory for stocking or restocking.
  • Reports any discrepancies or damaged items to the Store Manager or Support Supervisor.
  • Organizes merchandise on shelves based on style, size, and type, performing stocking and restocking duties.
  • May assist with inventory tracking, tagging, or labeling of shelving.
  • Exercises caution in unpacking, storing, transferring, receiving, hanging, or displaying retail items to prevent damage and injury.
  • May perform clerical tasks such as filing, bank deposits, data entry, reports, and audits.
  • Prepares products for display, including assembly, wiring, and pricing of merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Engages in various merchandising duties related to maintaining the stockroom, sales floor, and displays, such as cleaning and organizing merchandise.
  • May operate the register or Kiosk to process sales or check product availability, adhering to Corporate Security policies.
  • Exhibits exceptional customer service and focus, potentially assisting with Customer Stock Checks.
  • Supports team members by retrieving products and performing merchandise carry-outs for customers.
Job Requirements:
  • Enthusiastic and motivated individual who enjoys engaging with people and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • A valid driver's license and access to an automobile are required for conducting in-home demonstrations or consultations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Capability to climb ladders and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Availability to work day shifts and weekends is essential.
  • Consistent job attendance is expected in accordance with the schedule established by the supervisor.
