Work Schedule: Flexible, up to 12 hours weekly
Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Position Overview: The CONNECT Mentor plays a crucial role in providing peer support to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities enrolled in the CONNECT supported education initiative. This position is essential for assisting CONNECT students in navigating campus life, enhancing social skills, and connecting with available resources. Comparable roles may include student ambassadors.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current enrollment as a student
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in standard office equipment
- Ability to engage with students with diverse disabilities
- Familiarity with campus facilities and layout
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least six months of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or pursuing a degree in a related social service field
To be considered for this role, applicants must submit an application and resume.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist assigned mentees in developing a weekly plan for campus involvement and academic activities. Meet with mentees weekly to discuss interests and activities, and facilitate connections to campus clubs and organizations. This may involve attending classes, events, and clubs with the mentee as needed.
- Demonstrate appropriate social interactions for students. Serve as a role model in both classroom and social settings, helping students acclimate to program routines and campus life. Address student concerns with guidance from the CONNECT Coordinator.
- Support the CONNECT Coordinator in tracking campus involvement hours. Mentors will meet weekly with the CONNECT Coordinator to report mentee schedules and document completed campus involvement hours.
Additional Information: Duties and responsibilities may be modified as necessary by management. Scheduling, shift assignments, and work locations may also change based on business needs.
